Ronald J. George, 71, widower of Jane F. George, passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, May 30th. Ron was born October 17th, 1943 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He spent the first part of his life there and in Fall River, MA enjoying the many fishing lakes in the area with his brother, John George. He attended BMC Durfee High School, and received his bachelors in Civil Engineering at University of Mass Dartmouth. As a civil engineer he served multiple internships in various states. His last assignment was located in Frankfort, KY. He made Frankfort his home and was employed with the Federal Highway Administration. He was married to Jane, deceased in 1990, and is survived by his three children, Tony George, Allison George, and Natalie Marinova and her daughter, Maiya. Also, he was preceded in death by his brother Ronald John George and his sister Arleen George. Other survivors include his brother, John George, sister-in-law, Alma George of Fall River, MA and several loving nieces and nephews. His passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles was apparent during his early adulthood. He was an avid fisherman, loved the Boston Red Sox, constructed model airplanes and playing dominoes. He was a devoted, dedicated father and charismatic friend. Though a man of few words generally, the ones he did share were witty, wise and insightful. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday at Rogers Funeral Home, with visitation preceding at 4:00 pm. In accordance with his wishes, his body will be cremated following the services. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Franklin County Senior Activity Center.
