Obituary of Elizabeth Mudd Johnson

Elizabeth Mudd Johnson, 97, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015. Born in Springfield, Ky. on May 24, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Louis A. and Sally Ann Thompson Mudd. A graduate of St. Catherine Academy, she attended St. Catherine College and spent her life as a mother and homemaker. She was a lifetime member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Elizabeth is survived by a son, William G. Johnson (Elaine); a daughter, Marguerite Lees (Ron); two sisters, Corinne Thomas and Peggy Hill; eight grandchildren, Kevin Lowery, Cindy Pyfrom, Joy Lees, Faith Lees, Grace Lees, Julia Webb, Mark Johnson, and Beth Winchell; five great-grandchildren, Jordan Webb, Taylor Webb, Hannah Webb, Lexi Winchell, and Lucas Winchell; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Garnett Johnson; a sister, Sarah Louise Mattingly; and five brothers, Louis Mudd, Jr., J.S. Mudd, Ivo Mudd, Paul Mudd, and Billy Mudd. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in the Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday with visitation preceding at the church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery. Father Charles Howell will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Brian Webb, Keith Glad, Shaun Winchell, and Elizabeth's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Flowers are appreciated, while contributions in Elizabeth's memory are suggested to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Good Shepherd Catholic Church, or a charity of your choice.
