Obituary of Gayle Sutherland

Gayle Allen Sutherland, 70, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.

Born in Frankfort on July 25, 1947, Gayle was the son of the late Herman A. and Lucille Wilson Sutherland. He is survived by two brothers, Donald Lee Sutherland (Rosanna) and Mark Scott Sutherland.

A 1967 graduate of Franklin County High School, he was a Navy veteran and retired from work with the Ky. Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion, Hiram Lodge #4 F&AM, Knights Templar, V.F.W., and Kiwanis. Gayle served as a Deacon at the Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church and worked in the food kitchen.

A funeral service will be held at the Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment in the Frankfort Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the Forks of Elkhorn Chapel from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17th and at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday. A masonic service will be held at 6:30 pm Sunday; the Lodge will open at 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Gayle's memory be made to the Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, 495 Duckers Rd, Midway, KY 40347.
