I consider Duane my oldest and dearest friend. We met in 1971 when I was discharged from the service. We were both antique dealers at the old Georgetown, Ky. flea market. One look at his table of merchandise and I knew we shared the same interests! For years we set up together at antique shows and flea markets, and enjoyed many a buying trip together, searching for treasures. We both were artists - when I retired from teaching to make art full time, Duane graciously offered the use of his basement for my first studio. When you are friends for over fifty years, you would expect some ups and downs, but Duane and I never had a single cross word. We would occasionally drift apart, I spent a year in Atlanta going to school, and several years ago I moved to Winchester, Ky., and this made it harder to see each other on a regular basis. I consider Duane to be one of the finest men I have ever known, he will be sorely missed by all who knew him, my heartfelt condolences to family and friends, rest in peace, old friend.
