Lou Jean Duncan, 75, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 20. Born on August 6, 1941, Lou Jean was the daughter of the late Audra and James Richardson of Frankfort. Lou Jean is survived by her son Jeff Duncan. After graduating from Frankfort High School in 1959, Lou Jean attended the University of Kentucky and graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1963. She performed as a majorette at Frankfort High and WKU. Lou Jean taught English at Elkhorn Middle School and Good Shepherd. Her passion for helping children learn and create resulted in multiple recognitions in the All-Academics Honorary Faculty, an award given by students who themselves are in the Who’s Who Among American High School Students, naming their most influential teacher. Lou Jean leaves behind many cherished relationships with friends, family, faculty members and former students. Visitation will be at Rogers Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday September 30. Services will be at First Christian Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1. A reception will follow at Good Shepherd Church. Pallbearers will be John Herzog, Jadie Tomlinson, Mike Haynes, Jeff Stamper, Sam Stamper, Mark Eifler, and Chris Huelsman.
