Obituary of Edward Rassenfoss

Edward F. Rassenfoss passed at the age 94 on February 11, 2025. He is preceded in death by his wife Babette LaFontaine Rassenfoss. Born on November 20, 1930 to George and Ruth Rassenfoss in Louisville, KY, Ed graduated from Mount Sterling High School and the University of Kentucky, where he received a degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the Army and was stationed in Thule, Greenland, then went on to work for the State of Kentucky Department of Transportation Highway Design. Ed was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where he was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and was a member The Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers Ed is survived by his children Marie (Terry) Hope, Cathy (Tony) Edington, Frank (Shiela) Rassenfoss, Chuck (Missy) Rassenfoss, Margaret (Troy) Hayden, Theresa (Craig) Blanton, Frannie (Alex) Smith, and Paul (Teresa) Rassenfoss. He had 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and is also survived by his brother-in-law Vincent LaFontaine and sister-in-law Theressa LaFontaine, as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings George A., John, William O., Mary Alice, and Martha. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Visitation will be at Good Shepherd Church on Tuesday, February 18th at 11:00 am, with a funeral mass to follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
