Obituary of Lucy Eddins

Lucy Jo Terry Eddins, 82, passed away on March 16, 2025.
A lifelong Frankfort resident, Lucy was born to Joe and Alice Swope Terry on February 5, 1943. She graduated from Frankfort High School and the University of Kentucky, and went on to teach at FHS and later work as a retirement counselor at Kentucky Teachers’ Retirement System. She was a member of Bridgeport Christian church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, horses, flowers and gardening, and card games and puzzles.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband William “Bill Eddins”, and her son Ronnie Eddins.
She is survived by her daughters Cindy Cook and Karen Averill, son Terry Eddins, sister Linda Dixon, three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
A service in celebration of Lucy’s life will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 12:00 pm Wednesday, March 19th, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery. The Rev Ann Shepherd will officiate the services.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Averill, Terry Eddins, Collin Averill, Stephen Dixon, Richard Dixon, and Jim Terry.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bridgeport Christian Church.
