Obituary of Mary Jo Mendoza

Mary Jo Mendoza, age 49, passed away peacefully at her home in Lawrenceburg, KY, on May 8, 2025. Born on May 25, 1975, she was the cherished daughter of the late William Joe Eglain and Cathy Jo Roberts. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Goldie and Charles Roberts; her beloved mother and father; her dear aunt, Mary Palmer; uncle Tex Roberts; her cousins Jay Roberts and Donna Espinoza; and her beloved child and loyal companion of 19 years, her dog Chiquita. She is survived by her devoted husband, Lorenzo Hernandez, who stood faithfully by her side. She is also lovingly remembered by her three sisters: Bobbie Jo Engler, Chasity Flores, and Toni Renee Cremeans; her nieces, LaCrissa Jacobs (John) and Sharee Hall (Dennis); and Evan, Celena, and Layla; aunts Peggy Allen and Donna Edlen; and her uncle Raymond Bush, along with many other extended family members and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. Mary Jo touched many lives with her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Mary Jo’s life will be held on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Memories Event Venue, located at 811 Louisville Rd, Frankfort, KY 40601. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her memory and share in the love she gave so freely. Flower donations are welcomed and may be delivered to the venue on the day of the celebration.
