Obituary of Martin Serafini
Please share a memory of Martin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John "Martin" Serafini, Sr., a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, entered into the arms of our Lord on September 24, 2025, at the age of 74. He leaves behind a legacy of love and countless cherished memories.
Born in Frankfort, Kentucky on July 15, 1951, Martin was a man of kindness and boundless generosity. He met the love of his life Sherry Smither during their high school years at Franklin County, and this enduring love blossomed into a beautiful marriage of 54 years. Martin and Sherry's bond served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Martin retired as Vice President of Operations of Farmers Bank and Capital Trust Co. where he worked for 43 years. He was a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church where he thoroughly enjoyed Todd's teachings and especially his silly jokes.
Martin was a true family man. His willingness to offer a helping hand to his family and friends was one of many ways he ensured his loved ones always felt supported and cared for. One of his greatest joys was cheering on his ten beloved grandchildren in all their events and activities, and his presence was a constant source of encouragement and pride. Martin most recently was thrilled by the news that a great-grandson was on the way - a testament to the growth of the family he loved so deeply.
In addition to his wife Sherry, he will also be profoundly missed by his three children, John Serafini (Stachia), Audra Byers (Chris), and Tiffany Clark (Jeremy); and his ten grandchildren, Payton Billiter (Ben); Paige, Reese, and Bennett Serafini; Braden, Brooke, Bryce, and Bristol Byers; and Dalton and Linken Clark.
He is also survived by his siblings Joe Serafini (Clara), David Serafini (Sandi), and Eric Serafini. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mattie Serafini, and his siblings Victor, William "Fred", and Stephanie Serafini.
A service in celebration of Martin's life will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 27th with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Martin's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church.
Martin's signature laugh and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
