Obituary of "Bubbie" Brown

Please share a memory of "Bubbie" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Please keep the family of Roland "Bubbie" Brown in your prayers. Roland D. “Bubbie” Brown, 55, was born in Frankfort, Kentucky to the late Ben Stokes and Elizabeth E. “Lizzie B” Brown on January 5, 1970. He departed this life on November 8, 2025. Bubbie was a native of Frankfort, Kentucky and served in the U.S. Navy at Norfolk, Virginia. Bubbie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior late in his life at First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by Rev. Leslie Whitlock, Pastor. He attended Second Street Elementary and Frankfort High School where he succeeded in football. Bubbie is survived by his wife of more than 20 years, Sarah Brown; brother Charles W. Carter, III (Nina); sisters Donna L. Carter and Vickie James; nieces Tiera Carter, Farrah Carter, and Natasha Jackson (Will); and nephews Jamar Carter and Alonzo Scott, along with a host of great-nieces and nephews, family, and friends. He was the godfather to quintuplets Avery, Bailey, Shelby, Lucas, and William Wainscott. Bubbie worked often as a cook, which he did well and enjoyed very much. There was not a person who didn’t enjoy his food, “like mother like son”. He most recently worked for Veterans Affairs on Leestown Road. Bubbie was the life of any party by making people laugh, and he would talk your head completely off. Once he smiled at you, you were hooked and he was your friend forever. He was definitely a mama’s boy, and the two of them together would cut a rug. They both loved to dance. Bubbie and Sarah had planned on growing old together, and looked forward to many other plans, but God needed him more, and that’s where we find our comfort: knowing that he is with our Heavenly Father and his mother, Ms. Lizzie B. A funeral service wil be held at First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church at 12:00 pm Saturday, November 22nd with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.
