Connie Jane Anglin Stokes, age 74, passed away peacefully at her home on January 18, 2026, surrounded by the life and love she worked so hard to create. She was born and spent her life in Frankfort, Kentucky. Connie’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was raising her children. She devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mother, creating a home filled with stability, encouragement, and unconditional love. Family was always her priority, and she poured her heart into nurturing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As her children grew, Connie returned to college, demonstrating perseverance and quiet determination. She later retired from the federal government, closing a chapter defined by independence, hard work, and pride in her accomplishments. Connie loved adventure, whether through travel, new experiences, or gathering family together. She treasured time spent with loved ones and found her happiest moments surrounded by laughter, stories, and shared meals. In recent years, she enjoyed companionship and friendship at the Capital City Activity Center, where she created many fond memories. She is survived by her daughter Michele Stokes Barnes (Jim) and her son Joey Stokes (Elizabeth); seven grandchildren, Destinee Frye (Greg), Blake Stokes, Joseph Stokes, Summer McKinney, Cole Barnes, Ashley Barnes, and Sarah Barnes; five great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Philip Anglin (Robbie), Danny Anglin (Janice), Kathy Edwards, Hubie Anglin (Pam), and Mark Anglin. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Callopie Anglin, and her life partner, Tim Ayres. Services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., followed by an interment in the Frankfort Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Stokes, Blake Stokes, Joseph Stokes, Jim Barnes, Cole Barnes, Greg Frye, Danny Anglin, and Hubie Anglin. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Anglin and Philip Anglin. The family extends special gratitude to her devoted caregiver and friend, Tara Davis, whose compassion and kindness brought comfort and care to Connie over the years. In lieu of flowers, Connie requested that donations be made to the Capital City Activity Center, in honor of the friendships and joy she found there in her later years, or to the American Diabetes Association. Connie leaves behind a legacy of devotion, perseverance, and love.
