Obituary of Kay Bowman

Please share a memory of Kay to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kay Allison Bowman, 67, was welcomed to Heaven on Monday, July 31, 2023. A gathering of friends and family to celebrate her life will be held at Rogers Funeral Home this Friday, August 4th, from 4-7pm.  Born in Campbellsville, KY on March 15, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Alleen Allison Marshall. A graduate of Frankfort High School and Eastern Kentucky University, her heart was to help students from all backgrounds overcome obstacles to their successful learning. Her last years in teaching were spent serving the students and being loved by the staff of Peaks Mill Elementary School. She was a finalist for the Fred Award and Classified Teacher of the year during her time at The Mill.  Kay was a devoted follower of Jesus and loved listening to southern gospel music and KLOVE. She was also a member of Buck Run Baptist Church. Special thanks to Dr. Wesley Noss for ministering to her and the family so faithfully during her battle.  Survivors include her husband, Tom Bowman; her children, Tara (Bo) Cracraft, Sarah Hopper, Tresina Bowman, Clay Bowman; grandchildren, Chadwick Dale, Andrew (Phoebe) Dale, Ellie (Kevin) Lewis, Colby and Kallee Cracraft, and Harper Barlow; brother, Charles R. (Alice) Marshall; nieces, Brooke (Brandon) Garrett, Beth Marshall, Ashley Marshall; and nephew, Lee Marshall, and many cherished great-grandchildren and great-nieces.  Flowers are welcomed, while the family suggests contributions in Kay's memory be made to the Peaks Mill Elementary PTO to create a fund to offset the cost of field trips for Patriot students: Peaks Mill PTO, Peaks Mill Elementary, 100 Peaks Mill Road, Frankfort, KY 40601. Please reference "Bowman field trip fund" on your check.
