Jimmie Kimbrough Haviland, widow of George Kern Haviland, passed away October 30, 2013. She was born in Cynthiana May 2, 1925, to James F. and Mary Sue Kimbrough. She is survived by son, Steve (Julie) Haviland, daughter Janice Collins, and granddaughters Ellen (Ben) Baker and Karen Collins. She was preceded in death by sister, Sarah Withers. She was a member of South Frankfort Presbyterian Church where she served in numerous roles. She was an elder, Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, moderator of Women of the Church, and circle member. She started the Wednesday night dinners and after-church lunches. She was a 40 year member of King's Daughters' Silent Workers Circle, where she served several terms as Chair of the Board, and spent many hours volunteering at King's Daughters' Apartments. One of her greatest joys was fundraising for the Kings Center, where she was named an honorary lifetime board member. Visitation will be Sunday 3-5 pm, and funeral Monday at 11:00 am. Both will be at South Frankfort Presbyterian Church in Frankfort. Reverend David Wadsworth will officiate. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery in Cynthiana.
