Lonnie Edward Shelton, Sr., 72, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017. Born in Lexington on October 29, 1944, Lonnie was the son of the late Edna May Lamb and Harvey Shelton, Sr., and was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Louise Purvis Shelton. Lonnie is survived by three daughters, Beverly Vinegar (Terry), Rebecca Shelton, and Tina Jasper; a son, Lonnie Shelton, Jr. (Tweety); five sisters, Betty Grantham, Sarah Tandy, Rita Collins, Peggy Gardner, and Ann Riddle; six grandchildren, Keele, Logan, Kyle, Nicole, Morgen, and Chandler; and three great-grandchildren, Kylee, Maci, and Kinslee. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Phillips; and three brothers, Harvey Shelton, Jr., Leonard Shelton, and David Shelton. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.n. Wednesday at Rogers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Rogers, followed by interment in the New Liberty IOOF Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital - Burnet Campus.
