Please share a memory of Tommy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Thomas J. Purvis III, affectionately known as “Tommy”, “TomCat”, “The King”, and “Big Block”, husband of Janice Purvis, entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the age of 57. A native of Frankfort, Tommy was born on January 16, 1964 to the late Thomas Purvis and Emma Quire. He was also blessed with a second set of parents, James and Mary “Sugar” Johnson. He ran Tommy’s Auto Care, a complete towing and auto repair shop, for more than 30 years. In addition to his wife of 10 years, he is also survived by his children Chris (Kizzy) Purvis, TJ (Emily) Purvis, Tonya (Renzo) Williams, Jason Purvis, Angie Purvis, Brandon Purvis, and stepson Jordan Richerson; as well as 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many siblings, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. No matter what kind of vehicle or automotive issue you had, Tommy could fix it; people would travel from many miles away just for him to look under their hood. His hobbies included truck pulling, drag racing, and anything pertaining to classic cars. Visitation will be held at Rogers Funeral Home on Sunday, October 17th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Truth Baptist Church on Monday, October 18th at 12:00PM with burial following in the Frankfort Cemetery.
