I knew Mr Hicks for many years as a coach and friend and a McDonald’s lunch buddy. He was always smiling and kind. I know he had a long and full life and will be missed greatly by many folks.

My deep condolences to all the family. Bob will be missed by so many of us, because he made us feel like family too. He used to give baseball cards to the children here in Cloverdale, he walked and waved at people as he made his way around the block. He and I had good chats Saturday mornings at the old Good Shepherd on Wapping Street when Bob was preparing in the sacristy for Father Keller, and I came to pick up purificators to launder. He has been a sacristan and faithful servant of God, parish, and community for decades, scores of years of service. He also was a good neighbor, father, grandfather, husband, and so much more. God bless all the family, remember this is not the end, you will be together again one day in heaven! .

Oh My-If there was ever a person that deserves Angel Wings it would be Bob Hicks! He was such a delight- his big smile, his laughter, his wisdom, his encouragement, his ambition, his thoughtfulness, his compassion, his love for his community, his endless hours helping with St.Vincent DePaul and his Love for all he did for Good Shepherd Church. He was also instrumental in helping me start the Senior Shepherds Program at G.S. Oh- the fun times we had! To All the family we are so sorry for your loss. He loved all of you very very much. We feel blessed to say we will also miss him but so very grateful to have known him. Angel Wings indeed! Sincerely, Bambi and Jimmy Jones

During a retreat a few years ago, everyone's purpose was to find or improve their relationship with our Lord. Since Bob already had what the rest of us were seeking, his purpose was to help others through his example and supportive actions.
Condolences from the entire retreat group and thank you, Bob, for being you, for some many. Steve Collins

There isn't one memory I have of my Uncle Bob that doesn't make me smile. From patiently teaching my son the penny trick when using a putter to pulling a fidget spinner out of his pocket, he shared joy with everyone with whom he shared space and life. His servanthood to God continues to inspire me. Much love to his entire family and community from his brother Jim's daughter, Patricia Briggs

Mr. Hicks truly was a wonderful human being. When I was running the 5Ks and 10ks around, he would always be there. And he was so encouraging to folks like me, about whom another runner said, “Karen, most people walk faster than you run!”
I didn’t know him very well and was so impressed to learn of his work on behalf of mental illness, the impoverished, the folks often left out of our lives. What a legacy! Bob was always a kind, gracious gentleman and we were lucky to have him involved in our community.

Mr.Hicks was a brave man taking on a bunch of junior high-ish aged girls and making them into a softball team. He taught lessons that have lasted my lifetime and been applied universally in my life. His unfettered enthusiasm and non-stop encouragement were just what was needed to keep our attention and instill a love of the game and work as a team. I have always treasured those memories and will continue to do so.
My prayers to the family for your loss with special thoughts to Billy, Ann and Marilyn.

Bob was absolutely one of the sweetest, most helpful, and seemingly most optimistic person I may have ever known. I don't remember when he went from "Mr. Hicks" to "Bob" but I knew him and much of his good work in the community and for his church family for my whole life. If ever I may have known a living saint, it was Bob Hicks. Thanks to the family for sharing him with us.
