Obituary of Jane Peters

Jane Elizabeth Peters, 97, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022. Jane was the daughter of the late Thomas E. Peters and Nell Spalding King and is survived by three nieces, Paula Newton, Katherine Sanderson, and Virgie See. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Gracie Mae Peters; a niece, Barbara Shramm; and a nephew, Gene Peters. Born in Lexington on March 1, 1925, Jane attended St. Leo's Catholic School in her youth and retired after 25 years of service at the Frankfort Distillery. She was most proud of being a child of God and felt that her greatest accomplishment in life was being able to help others in their times of need - every year, Jane would donate to the Crusade for Children and purchase Christmas gifts for children in need. She served as Resident Council Vice President and Healthy Hands Deputy at Signature Health Care, where she resided for more than 15 years. A graveside service will be held in the Frankfort Cemetery at 10:00 am Thursday, September 29th. In lieu of flowers, Jane's family requests that in her honor, you donate to the WHAS Crusade for Children, Salvation Army Angel Tree, or simply help someone in need.
