Obituary of Herman Moore

Herman Franklin Moore, 89, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Born in Frankfort on May 3, 1933 to the late Forest and Leilah Moore, he served in the Army Air Corps before starting his lifetime career with BellSouth / AT&T phone company, beginning in Louisville, KY and ending in Smyrna, GA. It was in Smyrna where he met his wife Ethel “Becky” Moore, who preceded him in death. They were members of Lost Mountain Baptist Church. Herman was also preceded in death by his son, Herman Carl Moore, three brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Mary “Cindy” Smith (Jim) of Louisville; daughter-in-law, Kathy Moore of Irvington; step-son Jared Stephenson (Lisa) of Dalton GA; two granddaughters, Christina Boston and Nicole Moore; seven great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Sweeney, Donovan Moore, Destiny Alvey, Braydon Boston, Brently Boston, Haley McCoy, and Wyatt McCoy; as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 15th with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Contributions in Herman's memory are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
