I will miss my Internet friend so much. We never met in person, but we emailed almost daily, and we both enjoyed our talks about politics. Guy was a lifelong friend of my classmate, Monty Rhody, so Guy, now that you're in Heaven, find Monty and tell him that Linda says hello. I know the two of you have been known to get into some mischief, so remember where you both are and act accordingly! I hope both of you may find some of your 82nd Airborne members and have a wonderful reunion. I will never forget you, Guy.

I never met Mr. Schoolfield, but I became friends with his son, Monty, working together at the Kroger office for many years. He spoke so fondly of your family and would often share funny stories with all of us. We could tell Monty came from good stock, and we all just loved him to pieces!
I am so very sorry for your loss. Hope that sweet memories will help you during this sad time. Wishing peace and comfort to all the Schoolfields and the Rubles and everyone else that loved Guy.
Lovingly,
Carolyn Ives

I am so sorry to hear of Guy's passing. We really enjoyed your Company while in Florida and kept in touch with you both over the years thru e-mail. It was so wonderful being connected that way. Guy was such a great person, and I am so glad I got to meet such wonderful people over the years. My Deepest Condolences to You and Your Family...Helen Belliveau Ontario Canada

Thinking of all the good times we shared as neighbors, but you all were more than that to us. He was such a kind man and will be truly missed. We are honored and blessed to have known him. May your many memories help to sustain you at this difficult time. We are praying for comfort and peace for you all.
With deepest sympathy,

I’m certain there will never be another Guy! His sharp wit and easy smile defined him, and he cherished Linda, Guy, Monty, and, of course, those grandchildren and their families. My sons and I visited Linda and Guy in Naples, and Guy was the coach of their pool games. He had them in stitches, and henceforth he was called Coach by them! Their favorite memory was all the pictures he took, only to be told by Linda there was no film in the camera.
I know it’s unimaginable to Linda and their family that Guy is physically gone from them, but he left them with all the good memories he could squeeze from this life, and he was ready for his eternal rest, knowing that they will be united again in their heavenly home. He will be waiting for them with open arms and a huge smile!
I love you all and hold you in my prayers.

Since I was the youngest of the six Ruble kids I was only 10 when my sister Linda married Guy. I remember him talking about jumping from airplanes. I was very impressed by that but I couldn’t imagine what it would be like. It sounded scary to me. I remember one time when he went skydiving and Linda didn’t want him to go. I don’t remember for sure if it was his knee or ankle he hurt but Linda told him she didn’t feel sorry for him. I thought that was kind of funny. I must admit I felt sorry for him even though he had done something that Linda hadn’t wanted him to do. I think it was because I had done something once that I wasn’t supposed to do and broke my arm. At least we had something in common. My love and prayers are with my sister and Guy’s family. ❤️ I am so sorry that I can’t attend the funeral but I will be there in spirit to support the family. Love, Debbie

i worked with guy at the iaap and some of the memories were he used to bring onion sandwiches in his lunch ugh and we used to go to the local stags around the area and play poker and we both liked to engage in the spirits. Guy and linda and pam and i had several weekends of playing cards and trips to stlouis to the ball games Guy was all kentucky sports wise and i am illinois .He was a democrat and i am anything but at this juncture in time , but we agreed to disagree . Wish we had spent more time together but thats water over the bridge .He wasa good friend and wish linda and the boys the best going forward

I always enjoyed working with Guy at the Labor Cabinet. His sense of humor and general welcoming demeanor made him a great colleague. He handled a high pressure job very professionally. His years of work at the Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health Program undoubtedly helped save lives and improve working conditions for untold numbers of Kentucky workers.
