Henrietta Rice Stivers, widow of Charles W. Stivers, Jr., passed away on February 11, 2024 at the age of 96.
Henrietta was born in Frankfort on July 26, 1927 to Amy Johnson Rice and Lawrence Thomas Rice, Sr. She worked for Triplett's Grocery Store and Kentucky state government, and was a member of Highland Christian Church. She loved spending time with her family, and she enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, dominoes, board games, and working jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann S. Workman of Frankfort and Judy C. Smith of Portland, Oregon; three sons, John L. Stivers, Willie Stivers, and Randy Stivers, all of Frankfort; two adopted granddaughters, Desiree Stivers Wood and Elizabeth “Beth” Stivers of Arnold, Missouri; and grandchildren Jason (Nia) Stivers of Stevenson, Alabama, Heather (Jer) Schumacher of Gladstone, Oregon, Amy (Chris) Cary and Natalie (Dan) Swanson of Portland, Oregon, Mark (Kirsten) Smith of Milwaukie, Oregon, Eric and Brian Workman of Lexington, Kentucky, Justin O’Malley of Frankfort, and Brandon O’Malley of Fayetteville, North Carolina; along with 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Geneva, Esther, Marie and Rebecca, and brothers Otis, Pete, Billy, Bobby, Tommy, and Johnny.
A funeral service will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 12:00 pm Thursday, February 15th, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.
