Obituary of Leonard Burns Webb

Leonard Burns Webb, age 86, born on January 24, 1938, son of the late Leonard Maurice Webb and Naomi Karsner Webb, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2024, in Lexington, KY. Leonard worked at Brighton Engineering and then retired after 30 years of service from the Rand McNally Corporation. He enjoyed farming, golf, fishing, film, and car racing, but most of all, Leonard loved spending time with his family and friends. He attended Peaks Mill High School and Kentucky State University, and was a member, Elder, and Deacon of the Millville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Frankfort, KY. Leonard is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Janice Louise Tupts Webb; son, Stephen Lloyd Webb; sister-in-law Beverly Tupts Spencer; nephew, Patrick Spencer; nieces, Tracy Webb Widner (Joseph Widner), Jo Nell Webb House (Thomas House) and Melissa Spencer Reynolds (Dale Reynolds); and great-nephew, Samuel Thomas House. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Lee Webb; daughter, Paula Burns Webb; parents, Leonard Maurice Webb and Naomi Karsner Webb; brother, Bruce Lee Webb; and sister-in-law, Nell Branscum Webb. Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16th with visitation at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am. Burial at Frankfort Cemetery will immediately follow the service. Rev. Ray W. Holdren will officiate the services. The service will be available via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84626782570. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Leonard’s caregivers, the staff members of Baptist Health, Cardinal Hill Hospital, The Willows at Fritz Farm and Bluegrass Care Navigators for the excellent care provided to Leonard and his family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Leonard Burns Webb be made to Norton Children’s Hospital (nortonchildrens.com/donate/) or March of Dimes (marchofdimes.org/?form=donate).
