On July 16, 2024 this world lost a beautiful soul. Donna Lee Abel, 66, of Frankfort passed away at UofL Hospital just before 6:00 am. She was a mother and a friend to many. Strong, sweet, and kind, she could touch your soul and make you smile.
She loved the outdoors and hitting the local pool on the hot summer days, sitting and watching her grandkids.
Donna was born on March 30, 1958 in Waynesboro, PA to the late Donald E. Moats and Virginia Lee Moats. She was a single mother of three children, Jason Abel (Carmel) of Richmond, KY, Leianne Abel of Frankfort, KY, and Kaitlyn Abel of Frankfort KY, as well as a life-long family friend Leslie Cook of Frankfort, KY who she loved as her own.
She had four grandchildren, Andy, Jasper, Molly, and Lilly, and two sisters, Roxanna Hess of Waynesboro, PA and Linda Rakentine of Murrells Inlet, SC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Moats of Waynesboro, PA.
We, Jason, Leianne, and Kaitlyn, know that our mother would not want anyone to hurt, so we will leave you with this. She may be gone in body, but the love she had will last forever.
No services are planned at this time. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Rogers Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
