Obituary of Amy Thomas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Amy Jo Swiger-Thomas, who left us to be with our Lord on August 13, 2024, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Amy Jo Swiger-Thomas, daughter of Ron and Brenda Swiger, was born in Weirton, West Virginia, on November 6, 1972. She proudly graduated from Owen County High School in the class of 1990. Amy cherished watching crime videos with her dogs beside her, spending time with her family, and she loved frequently traveling to the beach. On December 17th, 2012, she married Chris Thomas, with whom she enjoyed over a decade of love and companionship. She is survived by her devoted husband, Chris, and their children: Shelby Abbott (Steven), Evan Partin, Levi Young (Jessica), Hunter Young (Macy), Ashley Thomas (Larry), James Thomas, and Christopher Thomas (Brooke). Amy was a proud grandmother to Axel Cannon, Ryder Nelson, Nolan Young, Rylee Thomas, Blake Thomas and Olivia Thomas. Also surviving are her parents, Ron Swiger (Brenda); her sister, Julie Cammack (Scott); her grandmother, Angie Riter; as well as her nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, and her best friend Stacy Hellard all of whom cherished her deeply. Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ralph Riter, and her paternal grandparents, Harry Swiger (Phyllis). Though she is no longer with us, her unwavering faith and dedication to the Lord will continue to inspire and guide others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Private services will be held by the family.
