Obituary of Ralph Sandlin

James “Ralph” Sandlin passed away on September 14, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 9, 1964, to James H. and Nancy Odell Sandlin of Frankfort, KY. Mr. Sandlin was a lifelong first-generation farmer. He started helping on a farm at the age of 12 and continued farming to some degree until his death. He truly loved to farm and raising a garden. He was a selfless man always wanting to do for others, especially his children. He was a member of County Line Community Church in Perry County, KY and a Kentucky Colonel. His greatest love was the Lord, followed by his family, especially his grandchildren. Ralph is survived by his wife of 37 years, Darla Shaddock Sandlin, formerly of Waddy; his children, Lindsey Searcy (Shane), Frankfort and Evan Sandlin (Ashley), Owenton; his grandchildren, Kaysley Searcy, Wyatt Sandlin and Nolan Sandlin and his yet to be born grandson Harlan James Searcy; as well as his two step-grandsons, Derek Sandifer and Karson Searcy. His is also survived by his sister Leslie Hageman (Jim). Ralph was proceeded in death by his parents and his in-laws, James and Doris Shaddock of Waddy. There will be a visitation at County Line Community Church in Perry County on Thursday, September 19th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. A second visitation will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in Frankfort on Friday, September 20th from 11 AM until 1 PM, with a funeral service immediately following at 1PM. There will be a private burial at the family farm. Pastors Anthony Mullins and Teddy Bailey will conduct the services. Pallbearers will be Billy Herald, Shane Searcy, TC Clay, Randy Smither, Del Brown, Don Moore, Alan Tyson, and Jeff Wiley. Honorary bearers will be Martin Henson, Ronnie Monroe, Danny Bailey, and Burleigh Grimes. A very special thank you to Seth Hughes, Paige Cooke, FRMC for the outstanding care provided in both the ER and by the 4th floor staff, Hospice of Frankfort, and Rogers Funeral Home.
