Obituary of Barbara Johnson

Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Barbara Ann Gregg Johnson, wife of Gary Johnson, passed away early Wednesday morning in the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born in Louisville to the late Dr. Franklin Chester and Dorothea V. Barrett Gregg, she attended Elkhorn School, Georgetown College, and the University of Cincinnati. She spent much of her life working as a fashion model, and later went on to work for the Commonwealth of Kentucky Dept. of Vital Statistics. Throughout her life, Mrs. Johnson attended the First Presbyterian Church, Millville Christian Church, and First Christian Church. A soprano soloist, she participated in the church choir in every church she was associated with and sang for many years with the Capital City Chorale. She played the piano beautifully, her favorite composers being Mozart and Debussy, played in the First Presbyterian Church handbell choir, and was an avid volunteer at the Franklin Co. Humane Society. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Sandy Long and Dr. Ray Holdren officiating. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:00 a.m. Flowers are welcomed, while the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Johnson's memory be made to the Franklin Co. Humane Society.
