Elwood Conway Jr. , 68, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington after a long illness. He was born in Frankfort, Kentucky, on November 29, 1944, and was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Sadie P. Conway.
"Doc" was a 1962 graduate of Franklin County High School and a 1967 graduate from Eastern Kentucky University. He was a lifelong employee of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in both the Transportation Cabinet and Commonwealth Office for Technology.
He is survived by a sister, Martha Conway Risk (Fred) of Columbus, Indiana; two sons, Elwood "Chris" Conway III (Karen) and Colin Conway; and two granddaughters, Angela N. Conway and Maria E. Conway.
Private family services will be held in Rogers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Franklin County Humane Society.
