Obituary of Terry Gay
Please share a memory of Terry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Terry Ray Gay, 53, passed away Monday morning in the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Born in Frankfort on July 21, 1960, Terry was the son of Sue Carol McDonald Tincher and the late Billy Ray Gay. He is survived by a daughter, Taryn Renae Gay (Bran Foster Sapp); a son Charlie Gay; two brothers, Steven and Stanley Gay; and a grandson, Gavin Whyatt Sapp.
A graduate of Franklin County High School, Terry spent much of his life as a construction superintendent, overseeing the building of many important structures and business in Frankfort. He was famous for his Derby parties, and enjoyed working with wood, building birdhouses, and building model cars and planes. Terry was strong in his faith in the Lord in his own way, and loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or waking up early to watch the sunrise. In his early years he enjoyed playing the trumpet, which had a huge influence on his son Charlie also learning to love to play. He and Charlie also loved going to UK games, and Terry spent most of his time over the past few years playing with his grandson.
