Obituary of Roy DeWitt

Roy DeWitt, 98, passed away early Sunday morning in the Golden Living Center in Frankfort. Born in Lawrenceburg on January 2, 1916, Mr. DeWitt was the son of the late Ollie and Helen Hawkins DeWitt. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was retired from the U. S. Postal Service and was a member of the First Christian Church for over sixty years, serving as Deacon for many of them. Mr. DeWitt is survived by three grandchildren, Chris Brooms, Alyson Meier (Andy), and Kasey Morrow; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Perry DeWitt, and his two daughters, Donna Morrow and Lou Ann Brooms. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the First Christian Church with burial following in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held in Rogers Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Flowers are welcomed, while contributions in Mr. DeWitt's memory may be made to the First Christian Church, 316 Ann Street.
