Obituary of Marie Evans

Marie McDaniel Evans, 90, widow of the late Joseph Evans, passed away Wednesday in Eustis, Florida. Born in Perry County, Ky. on January 5, 1924, Marie was the daughter of the late Nathan and Eliza Cotton McDaniel. She moved to Frankfort with her family in the early 1930s, where she later raised her own family and retired from work at the National Distilleries. She moved to Florida only in recent years. Marie is survived by her three sons, Buddy (Pam) Perry of Florida, Charles (Patti) Perry of Frankfort, and Rodney (Hua) Perry of Alabama; two step-children, Kay (Tommy) Fibbe of Georgia and Dewey Evans of Frankfort; seven grandchildren, Troy Perry, Tara (Larry) Hemmerling, Kris (Gail) Perry, Mitchell Perry (Jim McCoy), Marie (Ryan) Gregory, Stephanie (Steve) Allen, and Elaine (Phil) Bowden; ten great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Regn Hemmerling, Rachel and Joe Perry, Gavin and Patrick Gregory, Jordan and Rebekah Allen, and Elizabeth and Matthew Bowden; one great-great-grandchild, Zoey Hemmerling; and two sisters, Opal (Gerald) Vance of Frankfort and Yvonne Stewart. Along with her husband and parents, Marie was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Sowers; two sisters, Frances West and Mollie Norton; and three brothers, Bud, Bill, and Allen McDaniel. Services will be held in Rogers Funeral Home at 11:00 am Thursday, with burial following in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Marie's three sons, her grandson Mitchell, Jim McCoy, and Tommy West. Honorary bearers will be Tommy Fibbe and Ryan Gregory. Rev. Mike Napier will officiate the services. Visitation will be at Rogers from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday. Flowers are welcomed, while contributions in Marie's memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the Veterans charity of your choice.
