Obituary of Dr. Clyde Kirk

Dr. Clyde Roy Kirk, 95, husband of Nancy Viola Kyker Kirk, passed away at his home on Sunday evening. Born in Greeneville, Tennessee on November 23, 1918, he was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the Phillipines. He practiced medicine in Chattanooga for 35 years before moving to Frankfort where he practiced for 13 years before retiring in 1992. Dr. Kirk was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the John Browning Sunday School Class, was a member of the American Medical Association and the Kentucky Medical Society, and was an honorary member of the Frankfort Medical Society. He was a Fellow of American College of Surgeons, the American College of Otolaryngology, and the American College of Facial Plastics. Along with his wife, Dr. Kirk is survived by a son, Clyde Roy Kirk, Jr. of Lexington; four daughters, Nancy Ann Ott of Rutherfordton, NC, Jane K. Alissandratos of Gallatin, TN, Marie K. Brannon of Georgetowm, and Marty K. Lucas of Moly, MT; and seven grandchildren, Nancy Brannon, Zoe Brannon, Kelly Barnett, Chrisley Barnett, Angela Kirk, Heather Ott, and Will Ott. Visitation will be held in Rogers Funeral Home, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, with a brief service and military honors being conducted at 7:00 p.m. A private burial will take place in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Flowers are welcomed, while the family suggests any contributions in Dr. Kirk's memory be made to The American Saddlebred Museum.
