Lucille Hortenberry Gatewood, 86, passed away Sunday evening in her Woodford County home following a long illness.
The wife of Eugene Gatewood for 66 years, Lucille was the daughter of the late Martha and Orville Horteberry and was preceded in death by her brothers Carlos and Jay Hortenberry. She is survived by a sister, Lola Howard; and nieces and nephews Sabrena (Jeff), Jonathan, and Jason MacDonald, Grant (Denise) Grider, and Debbie (John), Cregg, and Michelle Anglin; as well as Diane Doss, Jo Ann McLullen, Judy Courtney, JB Hortenberry, and Angela Perkins. Lucille was a member of North Fork Baptist Church.
Services will be held in the North Fork Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, with visitation preceding the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Brother Jay Stratton will officiate the services. Interment will follow in the Switzer Cemetery,
Flowers are welcomed, while the family suggests any contributions in Lucille's memory be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
