Charles (Charlie) Edward Carpenter, Jr., 69, passed away on Tuesday, July 22nd. Born in Frankfort on May 22, 1945, he was the son of the late Charles Edward Carpenter, Sr. and Lucille Morrow Carpenter and is survived by a sister, Wanda Flynn and her husband Gary; a niece, Brandee Flynn Wallace and her husband David G. Wallace, II; a nephew, Daniel Flynn; and a great-nephew, David G. "Trey" Wallace, III. A graduate of Frankfort High School and Kentucky State University, Charlie worked as a bridge inspector for the Kentucky Dept. of Transportation. He was a member the Graefenburg Baptist Church on Waddy, was a past Master Mason of the W. G. Simpson Lodge #472 in Monterey and a member of multiple organizations of the Masonic Order, OES Hiram Chapter #93, American Mountainmen, Shriners, and many various other organizations. He lived his life to the fullest through his faith, love of the outdoors, love of animals, and community service. Services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 11:00 am Monday with Rev. Jay Padgett officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Rogers from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday. Pallbearers will be Daniel Flynn, Coary Morrow, Lawrence Clark, Chuck Reynolds, Clay Anglin, Tracy Waldridge, and John Rhea. Honorary bearers will be Charlie's cousins and fellow Masons. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charlie's memory are suggested to the W. G. Simpson Lodge 472 in Monterey, the Masonic Homes of Kentucky, or the Franklin County Humane Society.
