Edna Dean Cox, 96, widow of Howard Cox, passed away early Monday morning. Born in Frankfort on June 17, 1918, Edna was the daughter of the late Robert Dean Sr. and Nellie Skelton Dean. She spent much of he life as a line worker for Genesco Shoe Co., HK Porter, and Southern Moulding. A member of the First Pentecostal Church of God / Family worship Center, she was very active in the church. Edna very much enjoyed life, especially dancing and meeting new people. She loved her grandchildren, and was a wonderful and loving, good Christian mother, raising her children to be the same. Edna is survived by a daughter, Brenda Updike (Irvine Updike Jr.); two sons, Gilbert Cox and Joe Cox; a sister, Margie Hiles; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nettie Wilson and Marie Wilson; two brothers, Charles Dean and Robert L. Dean. Jr.; and a grandson, Billy Joe Sanderson. Services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, followed by interment in the Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Robbie Cox, Timothy Cox, T.J. Cox, Roger Brown, Robert Dale Wilson, Kenny Hiles, and Bryan Brashears. Rev. Gene Roberts will officiate the services.
