Obituary of Marguerite Cardwell

Marguerite Hutton Cardwell, 97, of Frankfort, passed away after a long life Saturday September 27, 2014 in Lawrenceburg.
A native of Georgetown, Marguerite was born September 7, 1917 in Scott County, KY to the late Henry and Letitia Calvert Hutton. She spent her life as a Homemaker and involved herself in many groups; She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church where she served as the, Circle 1 Secretary for many years and attended the friendship class, she served as President and Secretary of the Louisville Rd. Homemakers and won the Homemakers Merit Award in 2002, she was a member of the 4-H council where she was also 4-H Leader, she was a member of the Franklin Co. Fair Board, and a member of the IOOF Rebekah. She was an Artist, loved to garden and travel, and she followed both local and college basketball and football.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet (David) VanMeter, Frankfort; Bonnie (Mike) Hedges, Frankfort; sons Gary (Paula) Cardwell, Lawrenceburg; Henry (Virginia) Cardwell, Frankfort; a sister Ollie Mae (Sam) Shout, South Carolina; Grandchildren David (Alicia), Lynn, William and Jessica Cardwell, David (Tiger) (Petra) VanMeter, Belynda (Joe) Masurat, Beth (Jim) Milburn, Brian (Cindy) and Brent Hedges, Great-Grandchildren Brandon, James, Katy,and Rebekah Cardwell, Jaylin Harris, Malcolm Derricks, Malik Carwell, Lukas and Emilia VanMeter, Gabrial Masurat, Graydon and Elie Milburn, Erick Lewis, Michael and Alex Hedges, Great Great-Grandchildren Jocelyn, Jaya and Jenna.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Lapsley Cardwell; brothers Robert (Sybil) and Jesse Hutton.
Pallbearers will be Grandchildren and Great-Grabdchildren
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Sandy Lacey officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or The First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
