Obituary of Marvin Hedden

Marvin Coolidge Hedden, 89, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, with visitation preceding at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Hedden will be buried in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Born in Fordsville, Kentucky on January 20, 1925, Mr. Hedden was the son of the late George and Ora Clark Hedden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Hollan Hedden; and a sister, Doris Kirk. Survivors include a daughter, Joni Hedden Cracraft (Carlos) and a son, Mark Bradford Hedden, both of Frankfort; three brothers, Hubert Hedden of Fordsvile, Ky., Bill Hedden of Atlanta, Ga., and Norman Hedden of Owensboro, Ky.; two grandchildren, Lynley Cracraft O'Neil (Justin) and Bo Cracraft (Tara), both of Frankfort; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hedden was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army under General Patton. He spent much of his life working as an accountant and bookkeeper for Sunset Memorial Gardens, was a member of the Juniper Hills Golf Association, served as past president of the Optimist Club, and attended Buck Run Baptist Church. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, he was a lifelong Wildcat fan.
Pastor Randy Vaught will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Carlos Cracraft, Tom Curent, Tom Kirk, Bo Cracraft, Sam Cracraft, and Justin O'Neil. Honorary bearers will be the members of the Juniper Hills Senior Men's League.
Flowers are welcomed, while the family suggests contributions in Mr. Hedden's memory be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601, or Sparrow Missions, PO Box 4329, Frankfort, KY 40604.
