Charles Cronan Howser
Charles Cronan Howser, 93, of Frankfort, passed away at his home on Friday, April 26, 2013.
Born in Frankfort, to the late Clarence Benjamin Howser and Elizabeth Cronan Howser, he was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mr. Howser was a proud veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army, 36th Infantry Division and was a member of VFW Post 4075.
Mr. Howser was an electrician by trade, a retiree from Schenley Distilleries and a 67-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was also an avid outdoorsman with a lifelong love for hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two daughters, Charlet Howser (Frank) Sonderman and Dorothy Howser (Glen) Gritton; three grand-children, Ann Sonderman Giles, Jeffrey Scott (Micky) Sonderman, and Elizabeth Ashley Miller; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ann Elizabeth Wright Howser; his granddaughter, Amy Lou Miller; and his five siblings, James Clarence Howser, Mattie Howser Hannon, Dorothy Howser Hale, Mary Howser Hamilton, and Anna Mae Howser Evans.
The family wishes to thank his caregivers who so lovingly cared for him in his final years, Brenda Hillstrand, Bonnie Morrison, Julie Davis, Sherry Johnson, Sandy Pribble, Chrystal Hash, Denver Petrey, Nancy King and his littlest angel, Brookelyn Petrey.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 8 pm at Rogers Funeral Home in Frankfort with a scripture service at 7 pm.
The Mass of the Christian Burial will be 12:30 pm Wednesday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Father Charles Howell officiating. Military honors and interment will follow at the Frankfort Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Catholic Action Center in Lexington for their medical service ministry.
