Sharon Parrent, 60, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 following a battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born in Frankfort on December 19, 1954, Sharon was the daughter of the late Jack T. Parrent and Hester White. She attended Franklin County High School (class of 1973) and worked for the Commonwealth of Ky for 17 years before serving as Office Manager with UK Pediatric Dentistry for 13 years.She belonged to the Easy Does It group and attended The Point Community Church. Sharon was full of life, a go-getter and achiever who enjoyed swimming, walking, dancing, and travelling. She loved children, especially spending time with her grandchildren, and was a passionate Kentucky basketball fan. Sharon is survived by a daughter, Manail Brook Berry; a son, Shayne Gaines; two sisters, Leslie Ann and Lisa Parrent; a brother, Richard Parrent; six grandchildren, Gabrielle, Amari, Amani, Sheray, Celina, and Shyanne; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jackie and Patricia Parrent. A memorial service will be held at the First Corinthian Baptist Church at 6:00 pm Saturday with visitation preceding at 4:00 pm. Rogers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions in Sharon's memory are suggested to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.lbda.org.
