Skipper and Family,
I was very sorry to read of Ed's recent passing. I will not be able to attend services on Sunday, but I wanted to offer my condolences and wish you the best. I haven't seen you guys in quite a while, but I will always remember my time working with Ed at the Dept. of Education, his professionalism, and most of all his sense of humor.

This basketball, symbolizing University of Kentucky WildCats, is very near and dear to Ed's heart and ours. We shared that special bond with Ed. You are loved, Ed, and will be missed!

Dearest Fossett Friends....
We are deeply saddened by "our" loss of this extraordinary man with an extraordinary gift. Ed never met a stranger. Always ready to share the 'Love' of the 'Jesus' he knew personally. We met Ed and Skipper at First Christian Church in Cape Coral Fla. It wasn't long before we discovered that we, too, were from Kentucky and shared the love of the University of Kentucky Wildcat Basketball. That was "Love at First Sight ". Friends Forever! We shared many trips together including Christmas at Disney World, where we froze! We bundled Ed up with 3 pairs of pants, 3 shirts, 3 pairs of socks, coat, hat & gloves. He was happy! We did Caribbean Cruises together and had a ball. We would have our 4th of July Fish Fry and could always count on Ed to keep the party hopping with his endless supply of jokes. Nobody did jokes like Ed! Ed Fossett was loved by ALL and will be missed by ALL! Our lives have been richly blessed having had Ed be a part of them. We love you and will miss you!

Ed was my father in law. He shared this with me. He spent 58 straight days in combat without a shower during his front line days in Korea in 1951. He was a 2nd Lieutenant leading a weapons squad in the Army at that time. He earned the Combat Infantryman's Badge and a bronze star. He came home and attended UK Law school on the GI bill and eventually rose in the ranks to Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserves. This next story I witnessed myself. He and Don Penegore had been friends and golfing buddies for 30-40 years and both were retired in SW Florida and having after dinner drinks with me at Ed's home. I asked Don if he was ever in the service. Don replied that he served in Korea as an enlisted man in 1951. I was surprised and said "Ed was too." Don looked at Ed and asked, "You were in Korea, too?" We lost heros when Ed and Don died.

Skipper and family and friends
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of loss and grief.
In my time of knowing and serving with Ed at First Christian, humility, integrity and a deep love for Jesus marked his every step. His Compassion for people was an example to me.
As vast as his human accomishments were, his greatest legacy is his passionate love for Jesus and his desire to lead others on that same journey.
Thank you Ed and Skipper for the privilege of being a part of your journey for a few years.
Because of Jesus

Ed Fossett was an incredible man of God. I remember him coming to our home to pray with me after a severe car accident and before and after my kidney and pancreas transplants. I found his prayers to be very comforting. Well done, good and faithful servant.
