Obituary of Edwina Finneran Hill

Edwina Cecelia Finneran Hill, widow of Lewis Edward Hill, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 in Frankfort, Ky. Born on June 13, 1925, in Midway, Woodford County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Edward Aloysius and Helen Genevieve (Nell) Haney Finneran.
Edwina was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, where she served as a member of the Ladies Auxilliary. She was a devoted wife and mother, and volunteered with several local community charities.
Edwina is survived by her children: Pat (Bo) Thomas of Versailles, Ky., Thomas (Gloria) Hill of Staffordsville, Ky., and Janet (Tony) Jewell of Frankfort, Ky.; six grandchildren, David Christopher Thomas, Valerie Hill Edgeworth (Jeremy), Matthew Edward Thomas, Kyle Anthony Jewell (Amanda), Kurt Michael Jewell, and Thomas Alexander Hill; and three great-grandchildren, Levi Anthony Jewell, Adalyn Hart Jewell, and David Lewis Edgeworth. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Genevieve, Bernard, and Alfred Finneran.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in the Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. Monday followed by interment in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Rogers Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
Edwina's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Contributions in Edwina's memory are suggested to the Good Shepherd Church Ladies Auxiliary.
