Robert “Gus” Spencer, 77, passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2016, surrounded by family and his faithful dog, Annie. He is survived by his wife Beverly Anne Tupts Spencer; his children Melissa Spencer Reynolds (Dale) and Patrick Spencer (Kim); sister Betty Hoopes (Franklin); Leonard Burns and Janice Webb; nephews Stephen Webb, Keith, Kevin, Jason, Tim and Steve Spencer; and nieces Terri Mello and Sherri Davis.
Born in Woodford County, Robert grew up in Versailles and lived in Frankfort for many years after serving in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the U.S. Postal Service and the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet, he made his home in Louisville. Robert was a member of the Millville Christian Church.
Private services were held on February 10, 2016, with burial at the Frankfort Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Millville Christian Church, 5210 McCracken Pike, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
