Nick and Peggy Petit offer their sincere condolences to Nedra's family and friends. Nedra was a dear, sweet, and special friend of many years and will be greatly missed. We will remember her as one of the most generous, kind, and considerate people we have known. We loved Nedra. She was a supportive colleague who readily shared classroom successes and cautions. Outside of campus her interest in us and our family was a constant, always inquiring how our girls and "grands" (children) were doing. Her renewal year after year of our "Yankee" magazine continued to give us warm memories of places of our youth. How wonderfully thoughtful she was. We will miss her dearly.

Ms. Nedra is so special to me for many reasons. She has taught me grammar rules I don't think my grade school teachers knew. She was a wonderful teacher and a lovely person. I was almost finished with my dissertation. Infact, she completed some editing for me at the end of July on my last chapter. It pains me that she did not get to see my finished degree and dissertation in hand. She will be dearly missed.

Nedra was one of the kindest, most loving women I have ever known. She never failed to ask me about my daughter-in-law (who was fighting cancer at the age of 25) and also about my grandson who spent a couple weeks in the NICU when he was born. My family will miss her as she showed her interest & love for all my children. She was an amazing lady!

Nedra has always been a great friend and supporter of our family. Her stories of life have entertained us for hours whether shared in person or through her letters. If you looked up "salt of the earth" I'm certain a photo of Nedra, with a broad smile, would be there as an example. She will be greatly missed.
