Obituary of SFC Bert O'Daniel

Bert O'Daniel, 63, of Frankfort, Kentucky, entered into eternal rest on the 29th of September at his home. Visitation will be at Rogers Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m on Sunday October 2nd, and a graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the Frankfort Cemetery. Bert was born in Lebanon Kentucky, on June 8th, 1953 and is preceded in death by his parents, Raphael and Anna Laura; his sister, Theresa Martin; and his brother Benedict. He is survived by his wife, Robyn West O'Daniel; his children Tiffany Quarles (Matthew), Laura Lines, Rebecca,O'Daniel, and Jackson O'Daniel and his grandchildren, Jacob Lines and Lynlee and Jude Quarles, all of Frankfort, Kentucky. He is also survived by his brothers Leo and Robert and sisters Mary and Nancy, all of Lebanon Kentucky. He served proudly in the United States Army National Guard for 36 years and was honorably discharged on May 30, 2012. Following his retirement, Bert worked for the Frankfort Independent School System as a bus driver and was a supportive member of the Panther family. Honorary pallbearers will be the outlaws: Eric, Cindy, Amy, Danny, Lance, Adrienne, Matt, Edgar, and their chaplain Mike. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Hospice of the Bluegrass, two organizations very personal to Bert.
