Corene Flannery Ethington, 64, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017.
Born in Clay County on January 20, 1953, Corene was the daughter of the late Earnest and Nancy Jane Madden Flannery. She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Flannery; a son, Jason Ethington; six sisters, Irene, Rita, Barbara, Joyce, Violet, and Diane; a brother, Clettis; and five grandchildren.
Corene was a graduate of Jackson County High School and had most recently attended Camp Pleasant Baptist Church. She loved sitting in the sunshine, enjoying the beautiful day that God had given her. She loved her family dearly, even though she did not get to see them as much as she would have liked. Corene loved her grandchildren Valeri, Emily, Abby, Angel, and Christopher very much. She enjoyed playing Rummy, listening to good old country music and gospel music, with some of her favorites being Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Charley Pride, and also watching old shows like Andy Griffith, Golden Girls, and Dukes of Hazzard.
Private services will be held.
