Obituary of Hazel Bush

​Hazel Alexander Bush, Frankfort, Kentucky, entered her eternal rest on May 15, 2017, while living in Wesley Village in Wilmore, Ky.  A long-time resident of Frankfort, Mrs. Bush was preceded in death by her husband, Travis M. Bush, her parents Otis and Lexie Alexander, sister Ann Larkins and brother James Alexander, and a grandson, William B. Drescher, Jr.   She is survived by her children Shirley Bush Drescher (Bill)of Nashville, TN, Harold T. Bush (Ann) of Versailles, KY, and Margaret Jane Bush of Frankfort, KY, and by 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.  

A native of Trigg County, Kentucky, Mrs. Bush was a long-time resident of Frankfort where she was active for many years in Franklin County Homemakers and First United Methodist Church. Aunt Hazel to her many nieces and nephews and Nanny to her many grandchildren, died only weeks before her large family was to meet to celebrate her one hundredth birthday and life well lived.

In Frankfort, the family will greet visitors at Rogers Funeral Home on Wednesday between 4:00 and 6:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM.

​In Cadiz, Kentucky, there will be a period of visitation at Goodwin Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (CDT)with a funeral service at 1:00 PM, followed immediately by burial at the Cadiz Cemetery.

The family suggests that friends might, in lieu of flowers, make donations to the Wesley Village Benevolence Fund, 1125 Lexington Road, Wilmore, Kentucky 40390, where Mrs. Bush and her family received loving care and support in the last months of her life.
