It is my hope that the family continue to receive comfort from the loving promise at John 11`: 25. This beautiful hope will help with your pain of heart that comes with grieving the loss of a love one.

Six oldest children of Forest and Leilah. Gertrude on the left on her bicycle, Pat behind her. Roger in front of Trudy and Pat holding onto his wagon. Leilah behind Trudy and Pat. David standing next to a bicycle. Herman in front hold on to his brother's bike. Forest Jr on a bicycle wearing a tie. Forest Sr on the right. Good picture of Forest and Leilah. Wonderful people all, though I never had the privilege of meeting David. Pic appears to have been about 1935.

Pat was an awfully neat aunt when I was growing up. All three of the sisters were neat people to be related to, and each did things to make family relationship prosper and things that caused us to want to tear out our hair.
Pat was about 16 when she lost her older brother David Thornton in the Coast Guard during WW 2 (1944) and that had to be hard but her husband and her had neat kids I enjoyed knowing as I was growing up. Cousins make lives better, or at least the ones we were lucky enough to know. It was (and still is) a blessing to have people who enliven lives and challenge us to also strive. Am grateful that I got to know Gertrude and Pat, and Sarah. Their talents were so different from each other but their accomplishments were real and noteworthy and worth noticing. Two sisters and a brother left but still people am grateful to know. Family such as Forest and Leilah raised created bonds that last past the veil drawn over the end of this life and we will celebrate our family ties in the life to come.Am grateful indeed to be a small part of such a neat family.

Even though we lived far away, I always enjoyed our visits and getting to know my great aunt Pat. She shared a special bond with her siblings and children and I know many will feel her loss. Deepest sympathies.

Lot of fond memories of Pat at our family reunions. In 1998, Pat, Aunt Bert and mom (Jane McMaine Rose) went to Bernice White's funeral together in Corydon IN. RIP Patricia Moore McDonald
