Ms. Gresham was my academic advisor and professor at Kentucky State University, in which I did major in physical education/recreation. She always made time in and out of the classroom. She’ll be truly missed. Praying for her family and friends.

Dr. Gershman was a professor of mine at KSU, I loved her spirit, her drive, I LOVED HER! She shared so much with us as students; how she traveled in that tan and brown car that matched the RV and Bucky!! he was our dog too. She was the motivation, along with the others at Bell Gym that inspired me to change my major from Biology to Physical Ed. I believe she would have been proud of me and my absolute love for this discipline. I offer my sincerest condolences and prayers to her family.
Sincerely,
Felice Parron Jones

Growing up with Mark, I spent many days and nights in their home. Donnie was always so welcoming to the old Tanglewood gang of kids into her home. Donnie was so much fun and always younger than her age. It was always cool to meet Kentucky state athletes that she was friends with. Our sympathy to the family in this difficult time. Rest in peace Donnie.

I only knew Donnie a short time as a fellow resident of Tanglewood, but she was so interesting! She loved dogs and we talked about them quite a bit. She enjoyed her garden and was proud that she had put in some native plants and flowers. I'll miss her!

I absolutely LOVED her. When I was a freshman at Kentucky State University in 1988, I had the opportunity to be taught how to swim by this wonderful woman. I would walk in every Tuesday and Thursday in my little bikini and she would just laugh, telling me I don't have on enough clothes. I weighed about a buck o' five back then and thought I was cute. She would be floating on her back all over the pool. She was so funny and down to earth and she did pass me on my five strokes, although I still don't swim (lol). I also want to thank her for not letting me drown when I had to tread water for 10 minutes, because I was on my way, I tell ya! I would also like to thank her for helping me get over my fear of water. This may not sound like much to you, but she meant the world to me and there were times I would reflect on the lessons that she taught me while attending KSU. You will be missed Ms. Gershman! See you on the other side at the poolside!

Donnie and Irv were on my morning paper route 1958-1959. That summer they hired me to cut their grass. My younger sister Annette became well known to the Gershman family since she was closer in age to Jody, Betsy and Mark. Donnie loved the outdoors. Her devotion to animals is a reflection of her concern for the welfare of all creatures. Donnie was more fond of dogs than cats, but she told my mother of a large black cat which kept hanging around her yard. Soon afterward Donnie arranged our 'adoption' of Kaspar, who became a part of the Herzel household for many years. I enjoyed the friendship of Irv and Donnie in the Tanglewood neighborhood where I've resided the past six decades. Donnie R.I.P. Sincerely, Roland Herzel

Donnie was a wonderful, unique, and truly inspiration individual. Her love of life and her family was evident in everything she did, and her commitment to her community and all the creatures inhabiting thereof was true. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
