Obituary of Gregory Lee Marshall

Gregory Lee Marshall, 66, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Born in Somerset on April 30, 1948, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Alleen Allison Marshall. A graduate of Franklin County High School and Eastern Kentucky University, Greg was an elementary school teacher and principal, spending many years in Houston, Texas. A member of the Methodist church, he enjoyed quilting, painting, and flower gardening. Survivors include his brother, Charles R. (Alice) Marshall; sister, Kay A. (Tom) Bowman; nieces, Brooke (Brandon Garrett), Tara (Bo) Cracraft, Beth Marshall, Sarah Hopper, and Ashley Marshall; and nephew, Lee Marshall. Services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday with visitation preceding at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Rachel Marshall will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Kendall Butler, Paul Mitchell, Bo Cracraft, Lee Marshall, Larry Marshall, Brandon Garrett, and Tom Bowman. Flowers are welcomed, while the family suggests contributions in Greg's memory be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
