I am deeply saddened by the loss that you and your family have encountered. Ann Lewis was my colleague at the Legislative Research Commission. Ms. Lewis was well liked and respected by everyone who came in contact with her. I truly enjoyed talking to her each time I came to her office. She made me giggle. Ann was a remarkable woman in many ways and made a difference in numerous people’s lives. It is my hope that the Lord brings you and your family the much-needed peace during this time. My thoughts and continued prayers are with you.
“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not a mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition and of unspeakable love.” ― Washington Irving

As Director of the LRC, I want to express the grief of all of our 400 employees. Ann was much beloved at work. I was always struck by her genuine concern for others. Several weeks after starting my job, Ann stopped me in the hall and asked about my adjustment to Kentucky and my family's relocation from Nevada. She was genuinely interested and concerned. Ann touched many lives at the Kentucky Legislature and leaves behind a lasting legacy of public service. She will be sorely missed.

Kasey, I know this must be hard for you and your Dad. Know I am praying for you and your family. Even though I am not in Gordon's anymore, I kept up with you through Ann. She was a wonderful lady, I so enjoyed seeing her in the halls of LRC. She will be greatly missed.
