What a wonderful person Orman was. I met him at Rotary and enjoyed sitting with him at his table whenever I had the chance. It was a real treat to be around him. Before Adelia's closed, I would regularly see him there and we often had lunch together. He was full of knowledge, extremely intelligent and had a great sense of humor.
He never let me forget that he is the one who nominated me to be President of the Rotary Club of Frankfort and he gave me a copy of his book, told me to read a certain chapter and what it was about. I told him the chapter was not about what he said was about. He just chuckled and said, "I got you didn't I." with a big smile on his face.
I knew he had been involved in numerous things but the obituary made it clear that Orman, through his work in creating the Merit System and other beneficial projects, left this world in a better condition. That cannot be said of all people.
